Let's Grow Issue 7

Hello, and welcome to the 7th edition of ‘Let’s Grow’, the first one on this new platform.

On the occasion World Music day in June, we’d announced a Carnatic classical music competition. The response to this was not only overwhelming in terms of number, but also in terms of the sheer quantum of talent exhibited by the participants. This was one of the factors that inspired us to take our eZine to the next level - to this live website so that we can share their talent with you through audios. Over the next few weeks, we’ll post some randomly chosen audio entries (not only prize-winners’) here, 1 every Friday for you to enjoy. We’ve also brought you a video from our judge for the music competition, Smt Chaitrra Sairam, I’m sure you’ll find it inspiring.

We thank Anu Krishnamoorthy and Kaja Abubacker Siddhique for powering the move to this format. They are the tech team for Let’s Grow and we welcome them aboard :-)

Here’s what we’ve brought you in this issue:

FarmYarns - Inspiration - Musings on some of the sights and sounds at The Organic Farm

Sustainability in the Bag! - The Story of Sri Thilak and the cloth bags through which he makes a difference

Flower Quiz 7 - Our usual feature that challenges you to identify common fruit/vegetable flowers

Recipe: How to Make Perfect Thayir Saadam - This one is by request from our friends in the North :-)

Competition Results - The list of winners in different categories in the Carnatic Classical Music Competition

Verse-Atile: The Eagle - A breathtakingly vivid poem by Tennyson

Do let us know how you liked this issue by commenting below - we look forward eagerly to hearing from you! Have a safe and happy fortnight - we’ll have Issue 8 ready for you in the 2nd weekend on August…

Love,
Team Let’s Grow
